스콧 엘리스는 에미어워드와 토니어워드에 노미네이트 된 미국출신의 연출가이다. 최근작으로는 뮤지컬 <Curtains, 2007>가 있으며 1991년 드라마데스크어워드 뮤지컬 최고연출가상을 수상한 바 있다.
스콧 엘리스는 오프브로드웨이와 브로드웨이의 수많은 공연들에 연출로 참여해 왔다. 그는 뉴욕시티오페라컴퍼니의 리바이벌 작 <A Little Night Music, 1990>으로 연출을 맡은 뒤 <110 in the Shade, 1992>를 거쳐 최근의 <Curtains, 2007>까지 많은 작품을 만들어 왔다.
그는 지금까지 4차례에 걸쳐 토니어워드 뮤지컬 최고연출가 부문에 후보로 올랐으며, 그 작품들은 <She Loves Me ? revival, 1994>, <Steel Pier, 1997>, <1776 ? revival, 1998>, <Twelve Angry Men ? revival, 2004>이다.
그는 <And The World Goes 'Round, 1991>로 1991년 드라마데스크어워드 뮤지컬 최고연출가상을 수상하였고, 현재 라운드어바웃 극장(Roundabout Theatre)의 협력예술감독으로 활동하고 있다. 2007년에 엘리스는 미국의 텔레비전 코미디시리즈 <30 Rock>의 에피소드 "The Break Up"의 연출로 에미어워드에 노미네이트되기도 하였다.
