스탠리 도넨은 영화감독으로 안무가로 활동하고 있다. 헐리우드 뮤지컬의 왕으로 알려진 스탠리 도넨의 유명한 작품은 진 켈리와 함께 감독한 <Singin' in the Rain>이 있다.
Personal Life
사우스 캘리포니아 콜롬비아 출생. 어렸을 때부터 춤을 배웠고, 17세에 브로드웨이에 데뷔한다.
MGM사의 전속 안무가로 활동하면서 뮤지컬의 안무를 맡아 자신만의 역량을 샇는다. 프로듀서 아서 프리드와 배우 진 켈리의 도움으로 뮤지컬 영화의 연출을 맡을 기회를 얻게 되어 기존의 뮤지컬 영화와는 달리 배우들의 역동성과 탄탄한 줄거리를 가지고 제작하여 대성공을 거두게 된다.
