I don't know very much about the Korean War, so I went to see this show. I'm a fan of Joo Ji Hoon/ÁÖÁöÈÆ but after watching the show, I'm now a fan of Kim Da Hyun/±è´ÙÇö as well.
Kim Da Hyun took me by surprise and stole the show, in my opinion. Lee Jun Gi gave an admirable performance (he hit his head and got 50 stitches right before the show I watched!!!! Ow~~~~!) and Joo Ji Hoon oozed charisma with his scowl and deep singing voice (and he's so TALL!!). But Da Hyun shone with his range and power - he sang with a lot of sincerity and emotion.
The other star of this show was the set - there were trenches and tanks and snowstorms and gunshots and bombs galore! Of course the Meredith Victory was there too - a behemoth stage prop - to add impact and a taste of reality.
While parts of the production seemed amateurish (low-budget?), the performance itself was solid and told the story well and with conviction. If you get a chance to see it before it's final show in October, please do - you'll enjoy yourself and understand a bit more about what happened here 60 years ago.
