배우. 싱어송라이터.

테네시주 녹스빌 출생. 내쉬빌 가스펠 작곡부터 시작하였다. 뮤지컬 <When Hell Freezes Over I’ll Skate>를 작곡하였고, 연출도 맡았다. 그는 <Dreamgirls>에서 제임스 썬더 얼리 역을 맡아 토니어워즈, 드라마 데스크 어워드 상을 수상하였고, <Brooklyn>에서는 거리가수 역을 맡았다.

그는 영화 <Moscow on the Hudson>, 닐 사이먼의 <The Slugger’s Wife> 등에 출연하였다.
