랑은 발레리노로 활동하였으며, 샌프란시스코 발레단과 몬테카를로 발레단, 어메리칸 발레 씨어터 등과 함께 무대에 섰다.

1945년 <Mr. Strauss Goes to Boston>으로 브로드웨이에 데뷔하였다. <Three to Make Ready, 1946>, <Look, Ma, I’m Dancin’, 1948> 등에 출연하였고, 1948년 <Kiss Me, Kate>에 출연하였다.

1952년 리바이벌 뮤지컬 <Pal Joy>, 1951년 <Make a Wish, 1951>, <Shangri-La, 1956>, <Ziegfeld Follies of 1957>, <I Can Get It for You Wholesale, 1962>, <Once Upon a Mattress> 등에 출연하였다.
