삶과 죽음의 노래 살고 죽는다는 명제 앞에 자유로운 사람이 누가 있을까 인류의 역사가 있어온 이래 지금까지 모든 예술과 종교, 학문에서 다뤄지고 있는 ‘삶과 죽음’을 주제로 영미가곡연구회의 제 79회 정기연주회를 갖고자 한다. 영국과 미국 시인들은 생사(生死)를 어떻게 시어로 표현했으며, 또 작곡가들은 그 언어를 어떻게 음악적으로 승화시켰는지 전문 연주자들의 목소리를 통해 청중들에게 선보이는 한편, 전공하는 학생들과 다른 음악가들에게는 희귀하고 다양한 레퍼토리를 소개하는 기회를 부여한다.
